COVID-19 vaccinations have been proven to be an effective way of suppressing the number of infections and, more importantly, severe cases and fatalities. Yet, the effectiveness of the vaccines wanes over time. Resurgence of COVID cases around the globe has prompted many governments, including that of Indonesia, to advocate for booster shots for large portions of their populations. This means that Indonesia, with about one third of the population fully vaccinated, will be needing hundreds of millions of vaccines in the coming years, especially if annual booster shots become a necessity. Therefore, to ensure that Indonesians receive a steady supply of vaccines even in times of global shipping crisis and possible vaccine export restrictions, there is a need for a local vaccine development and manufacturing capabilities.
The session will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia
